Open Question: Would I be at a disadvantage with a 4 speed auto?

hello. I'm thinking of turboing/boosting my 2.0 mazda 3 but I'm afraid since I have a 4 speed clutchless manual I would be wasting time and money since I don't have a 5th gear. I was talking to my friend and he told me that normally in a drag race you don't get out of 4th gear but I don't know. Anyways I need some input on wether I would be at a disadvantage racing against a 5 speed? Plus would I get turbo lag with a 4 speed?
